Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Inc. Partners with the African American Male Wellness Agency® at the 2027 Rose Parade®
PASADENA, CA – Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Inc. (KAΨ) is proud to announce a partnership with the African American Male Wellness Agency (AAMWA). Together, they will participate in the 2027 Rose Parade® presented by Honda.
In keeping with the parade’s traditions, KAΨ and AAMWA will showcase a meticulously handcrafted floral float designed to inspire spectators along the parade’s 5.5-mile route on Orange Grove Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. The theme of the float, “Achievement and Male Wellness,” will be brought to life through vibrant, all-natural floral elements and active mechanical features.
“Our presence provides us a broad platform to extend the fraternity’s achievement mission into wellness and longevity,” said Jimmy McMikle, KAΨ Grand Polemarch and International President.
The partnership brings together Kappa Alpha Psi’s commitment to achievement, brotherhood, leadership, and legacy with AAMWA’s mission to improve the health and well-being of Black men and their families. Through their participation in the Rose Parade, KAΨ and AAMWA will use the national platform to raise awareness about the importance of health screenings, education, and mental wellness.
“Together with Kappa Alpha Psi, we are strengthening our national position while bringing ‘Get Checked Out, Not Checked In,’ our call for Black men to take charge of their health, to an even broader audience,” said Kenny R. Hampton, President of the African American Male Wellness Agency. “This partnership allows us to inspire Black men and their families to prioritize health and make wellness a lasting part of the legacy they leave.”
The float is being designed and constructed by the professional float design team at Phoenix Decorating Company. KAΨ and AAMWA proudly invite supporters to view the float during the 138th Rose Parade on Friday, January 1, 2027, broadcasting live at 8:00 AM PST via major television networks and streaming platforms.
