Uplift Her is a health and wellness event to inform & empower women of color to take responsibility and prioritize their health.

Celebrating Five Years of Impact: UPLIFT HER

For over 20 years, women have stood alongside the African American Male Wellness Agency (AAMWA) in the fight to save Black men’s lives. But the reality is, women of color face alarming health disparities of their own—and we can’t ignore the numbers:

✅ Black women are 3 times more likely to die from breast cancer.

✅ 4 times more likely to die from heart disease.

✅ 4 times more likely to experience maternal-related complications.

These staggering statistics demand action. Uplift Her was created to tackle these urgent health disparities, providing free biometric health screenings, wellness resources, and community engagement to empower women to take charge of their well-being.

Why Uplift Her Matters

Our mission is clear: Know Your Numbers. Go to the Doctor. Get Active.

Participants gain access to a robust network of healthcare professionals, community partners, sponsors, community health workers, patient navigators, and vendors that provide resources in:

✔ Heart Health & Diabetes Prevention – Biometric screenings & education

✔ Breast Health – Mammograms & early detection education

✔ Women’s Wellness – Cervical cancer screenings & reproductive health education

✔ Lung & Colorectal Health – Cancer risk assessments & prevention resources

✔ Maternal & Infant Health – Education & safe sleep resources

✔ Mental Wellness – Cognitive assessments & emotional well-being support

✔ Organ, Tissue, & Blood Donation – Registration & life-saving education

✔ Youth Mentorship Activities – Empowering young women ages 13-17

"

For five years, Uplift Her has been changing lives by helping women of color take charge of their health. Join us as we celebrate this milestone —we can't wait to continue this life-saving work with you!
