Emmy-Winning Producer Rushion McDonald To Serve As Honorary Chair For African American Male Wellness Day In Houston On April 27th, 2024

HOUSTON, TX- The African American Male Wellness Agency (AAMWA) is pleased to announce its new national wellness event, African American Male Wellness Day, which will launch in Houston, Texas on April 27, 2024. The event is a re-imagining of The Walk to Save Black Men’s Lives. The agency has long said its mission is about much more than a walk and now it is putting those words to action. The new AA Male Wellness Day will be centered on informing men about their health and reducing health disparities among African Americans.

The event is taking place at the University of Houston at 7 a.m. It will feature free health screenings aimed at educating men about their bodies. The event also includes vendors, entertainment, and free family fun.

Emmy-winning producer Rushion McDonald will serve as honorary chair for the event. McDonald is a branding architect who has excelled in television, film, and publishing. He enjoys a robust social media presence and hosts a syndicated radio show.

“We are excited to further our mission of saving black men’s lives with the new African American Male Wellness Day,” said Kenny Hampton, President of the African American Male Wellness Agency. “We look forward to returning to Houston and expanding on our work of reducing health disparities in the community.”

The 2024 Houston African American Male Wellness Day is open to the public. Participants can register on the day of the event or online at aawellness.org/houston-texas. Join us on April 27, 2024, as we work towards closing the health equity gap.
